Tour De Bloc, Climbers Roc, 14th Novemebr 2009

Tour de Bloc is back for its 7th season. This year started on a high note for me because the first comp of the year is at Climbers Rock in Burlington, Ontario. It was my favorite stop on last year tour. The gym focuses a good portion of their wall space to boulder and they've designed a gym with wall angles you wouldn't expect with an indoor setting. There are plenty of opportunities to top out and with the roof to top out lines that are so common on these walls, this gym is steep. The momentum of the tour has grown and attracts seasoned veterans and a lot of new faces. Not many people understand the hard work involved in organizing a competition of this level better than Jody and Luigi and without the help from sponsors and volunteers, these competitions could not be possible.

So as we did for last years Tour de Bloc competitions, we ran around witnessing as many sends as we could in front of the lens so we could make the best competition highlight video we can in 48 hours. These finals were wicked. Even though most of the guys flashed problem 2, problem number 3 had everybody's fingers in a knot;) On the women's side, it was all about problem 4. Like the men's number 3, the ladies were delt an ace, and one in the pocket. Ouch! We'd like to thank Sheldon Poon for helping with the filming of the finals and to all those involved in making this another fun and successful Tour de Bloc.
